Farewell 2009

Wow.
WOW WOW WOW.
2009, you were an amazing year. you were busy, slow, stressful, fabulous, hard, easy, terrible and wonderful, filled with euphoric moments, blissful ones, and sad moments. You had your weird days, your blissful days, your GREAT days, and your horrible days. God, you blessed me BEYOND my biggest ambitions this year. You showed me what it truly means to trust in you, how that if I just gave up all my troubles to you you really would take care of me. You proved to me what true faith is, you filled my soul with longing for you. I was pushed FAR out of my comfort zone this year, I had to take on challenges and responsibilities I expected, and then many I did not expect at all. It was a year of learning, a year of big changes for both myself and America. I think this was a testing year, for me, there were many temptations and crossroads.
I stumbled, but I also climbed. I failed, but I also accomplished and overcame.
It was a HARD year.
It was a HAPPY year.
all in all. it was a GOOD year, we are still free, we can still praise God. Let's not dwell on the hardships of 2009, but realize how much more it made us appreciate the many people and things in life we take for granted.

Terrific Where Art Thou?

I cannot believe this. I think this might be the very first upsetting post here at Euphoria
Yesterday was Terrific Tuesday. I had the most TERRIFIC post, I spent a lot of my morning working on it I typed it, put in little smiley faces, and even added colored words here and there.
Best of all, as soon as I was done I PUBLISHED my Terrific Tuesday post. It made me happy. and then I had to work the rest of the day and eat dinner with guest. This morning? The post is gone. GONE!!!! ahhh, it's horrible, it's not in my drafts, or saved posts. FOREVER gone!! This is sadness indeed. I'm sorry readers.... I had something really Terrific and it took me so long to pull it all together. Since there is ALWAYS bright side. There will always be next Tuesday.
in fact, there will always be TERRIFIC Tuesdays!

"You've got to dance like nobody's watching and love it like it's never going to hurt.”

Guess what???
I went with a whole group of really groovy people, to this place called the Zendah Grotto.
and all they do there is swing dancing! with a live DJ blasting 1940's music from 8pm until 12am every Sunday. They even offer dancing lessons from 6pm-8pm for the clueless, like myself. The interesting part is when they are giving the lesson, all the couples are in a huge circle. and since at first there were less guys then girls, you went around the circle as the boys rotated girls. VERY interesting and somewhat creepy. during one rotation I danced with a very very short, older bearded man, who held my hand tighter then just a dancing grip. yeah, there were a few creeps. I also danced with some very dashing young gentlemen.
yes, it was a blast.
and after the lesson I could dance to my hearts content. I once again state the fact that I believe I was born in the wrong era

ok, so maybe I can't do that cool legs flying in the air thing like in first picture... and I'm pretty sure I can't dance like her at all. yet. but still, it was really great. See? I'm smiling. that's a good sign. And I have to thank each and every young man who risked their lives dancing with me, and tolerated my random blabber... I was nervous and distracted by the disco ball and twinkle lights, and all the pretty dancing couples. ok, so maybe I have officially ruined any chance of ever dancing with someone else again... but it was worth it. and apparently I looked decent doing it?? yeah, I have REALLY nice friends.

So Happy to be Back!!

Why hello!!! *sigh* it feels good, good good good to be sitting here in the morning blogging again.
I don't even know where one should start after not blogging for several days, during which they were having the time of their life.
Did you all have a good Christmas????
Oh I hope you did.
Christmas, as my mom would say, is a lot like a wedding.
all the preperation, and then in a blink it is over. however... christmas has ONE awesome exception... it doesn't go away forever, it just runs away to next year.
sadness, but that is why it makes this time of year oh so extra special.
ooh, yes, the face up there?
I GOT A CAMERA!
* confetti and streamers fly everywhere*
I was completely shocked, surprised, excited, giddy, and perhaps a little mental after opening it.
It's an adorable ruby red Nikon.
oh camera, we are only just getting to know each other, but I just know we shall be best friends.
As you would have guessed I immediatly went crazy taking pictures. =D
All of us kids and parents got really rad and groovy gifts.
Besides ripping my own presents apart, did I ever tell you I just LOVE opening presents, and wrapping them???
anywho, besides that I just loved watching my family open their gifts and seeing the expressions on their faces. priceless.
I can't believe my break is already halfway up, I knew it would go by fats, but this fast?
where's the pause button when you need it?
I hope all of you are enjoying your holiday... the New Year is almost here!!!
start working on those resolutions!!

( Our pretty tree.... we will miss it when it leaves us)

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Have A Very Merry Christmas

I cannot hardly take in the fact that Christmas Eve is tomorrow!!
oh my goody goodness.
this week has been utterly splendid so far.
I do so hope yours has been just as swell.
I want to thank each and every one of my dear readers during this season of delightful holidays. You have no idea how happy inside it makes me when I read your comments, or hear from word of mouth that you have been reading my blog. I never really imagined anyone would take an interest, I just saw it as an excuse to ramble randomly. I thank you for sticking with me, for visiting, for commenting, and for tolerating my somewhat oddness.
Merry Christmas to you.
And to all of my friends and family, if you are reading my blog, I miss you all dearly. each one of you. You have certainly impacted my life in one way or another.... and I am glad you did.
I am now taking a small leave from blogger.. I shall return in a few days.
I will miss it, but oh I will have much to tell when I return!
God Bless!

::Sniffle::

I do believe I have come down with one of the worst colds I have had... in a long time.
it started last night where I was so congested that I thought my eyeballs were gonna pop right out! *sigh* I haven't been sick in who knows how long.
So now I'm just dealing with the stuffy sniffles and achy sore throat that results in a smoker sounding croaky voice. and I'm real tried but my brain wouldn't let me sleep any later.
evil cold. at first i thought it was allergies... nope. nada. I would take allergies any day over this yucky, crungy, icky thing I have.
as my brother said last night,
" Hey Rachel? thanks for taking my cold for me, now mine is gone!"
your oh so welcome little brother.. why do you have to be so darn cute when you say it that way???
So thank goodness it's Saturday, thank goodness it's break.
I shall gladly collapse on my couch watching episode after episode of Gilmore Girls.
( a friend loaned them to me, and I am loving them....so sue me. ;])
and sipping on lemon honey water.
hopefully this shall go away by tomorrow.
I hope ALL of you have a sick FREE weekend!

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Yeah, um, About that....

*clears throat*
It seems while I was trying to edit part of my template today I accidentally
yeah, um accidentally.....
( I am quite sure I most certainly REPEL technology now)
.......deleted part of my template without realizing it and then lost my background.
sadness.
I had been thinking about changing it to 3 columns for some time,
I just guess my subconsciousness and Blogger decided today was the day to change it
so I found this *waves hand around*
I'm still trying to organize it and such, and I hope to find a neat header ( how do you bloggers GET those super nifty personalized headers?)
but besides it beng a work in progress...
whadiya think?
I hope your evening is filled with tasty thoughts and comfy couches =]

All I Want for Christmas....

Only about 8 days! JUST over a week!! It is TIME. people.
Time to either bore you or interest you with my semi-long-ish Christmas/birthday Wish List. *GRINS* I usually never ask for too much....
since my Birthday( which is January 4th) and Christmas are pretty close together. I am quite nice about it all and compromise( lol), you know.. "well, if you get me this for Christmas, instead of that, then you can just get that for my birthday!"
I LOVE PRESENTS!
Wrapping, taping, bowing, tearing, ripping, squealing. the works.
I especially love giving presents, and thinking up gifty ideas.
presents make the world a giddy place to be. =]
So here is my wishlist.
#1

A Camera.

If you only knew the story of my poor purple camera,
To put it short. I bought a lovely purple camera, took endless amounts of pictures. after 3 weeks of owning it. it died. for NO reason. Since I still had a warranty on it, I swapped it for a working one. well this new purple camera lasted an ENTIRE month before randomly dying.
For some reason I detest purple technology now. or perhaps I just repel technology altogether.
( no need to elaborate on my cell phone story) So that is why I never post new pictures on this blog, I haven't had a camera in 6 months. oh how I would love to fill this blog and many other places with photos! really. taking pictures is da bomb. It doesn't have to be the camera in the photo. any camera that doesn't randomly die and has the ability to take pictures will do. =]
#2
These items from modcloth.com ( especially the dress!)
(actually I LOVE everything there, I want it all =])

Soda Fountain Dress in Ginger, size Medium

Always Blue Shoes I'm a size 10 in shoes, sometimes I can squeez into a 9 and a half. I always say I have *coughs* somewhat longer feet to balance out my height. *winks*

Giddy Up Tee in medium

Walking On Sunshine Heels

#3 Anything Vintage!

TEAL Velvety early 80's New Wave Belted Dress from Lolavintage

Bright MUSTARD 60's Cardigan Sweater from lolavintage

Denim Dream Dress from MarieRetroRevival

#4 Hats. ANY kind of hat. but especially...

A Fadora =]

Wow... A lot of clothes eh? but what more can a girl want? Christmas is a Merry time. So there is my little wishlist, what's on yours?

Terrific Tuesday!!!!!!!!

*sigh*
I just love tuesdays now. really I truly do. Knowing my blog has some sort of scheduled thingy each week makes me feel like it's more than just my quiet place to ramble. Like it is a teeny bit like all those real big fancy shmancy blogs out there. You know.. the ones that have sponsors and thousands of followers??? (I suppose when I start doing giveaways and having sponsors I might just faint!) -on a side note....do you think it sad that I got all giddy this morning
about having 15 followers?- thank you readers =] Besides all that I love having an excuse to blabber endlessly on about something I find absolutely Terrific!!!
annnyyy excuse to talk, eh?
Ah yes, The Frighteningly GOOD third day of the week has ARRIVED! Alrighty, so we all know Christmas is RIGHT around the corner. I AM SO EXCITED! *ahem* if you have just now realized how close Christmas is...I am reaching out to give you a virtual slap. hello?!?!
I do believe one of my favorite thing about this time of year is baking cookies.
COOKIES!
ahh I always knew me and the cookie monster had a connection when i was little. Cookies shall be the death of me, when they are a little crispy on the outside but nice and chewy on the inside. Mmmmmmm. I will eat a truck load. and baking them>??? gahhhh
I end up having way too much fun, making a huge mess, and eating half the dough. But Christmas cookie baking time is THE BEST. We are about to start planning our cookie baking day in my household. and that's when I remembered my special recipe I do every year.
It's from an old Christmas Cookie Book. you can't Google it OR Bing it. you may find a similar recipe, but believe me. it's NOT the same. I've never ever shared this with anyone outside my family.
It is my gift to you readers. =]

*that picture is the closest picture I could find to the real thing, since I don't have one myself, just visualize that cookie with ribbons of melted peppermint throughout.*

Mint Chocolate Snaps

1(6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels. Half cup plus one and half tbsp shortening, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 cup light corn syrup, 1 teaspoon peppermint extract , 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup to 1 cup crushed peppermint candy, additional sugar

Melt chocolate morsels in top of double boiler over simmering water. Cream shortening in a large mixing bowl: gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate, beating well. Add egg, syrup, and flavorings: beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl: stir in chocolate mixture and crushed peppermint candy. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, and roll in additional sugar: place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350* degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool on cookies sheets for 5 minutes: remove to wire racks. Store in airtight containers. Yields: about 7 dozen

Me ohh My

That previous post was rather deep and intense,
and all over the place.
aaaannnnnd....long-ish.
was it not?
Mondays. oh mondays.
virtual cupcakes to those who actually read that post below and "get" it =]
I told you, I warned you, I think
often.
Have a PLEASANT evening.

Frolicking in the Field of Dreams

Good Morning,
one and all
who come hither to blunder and plunder throughout the many crooks and crannies
of this so called place of blogging.
I dare say my musing of the noggin can be quite trivial to read at times, the recesses of my inner most wonderings sometimes appear as a mess of buttons in a jar.
All different colors, shapes and ages.
This week has pushed off quite splendidly.
It started with a seed of goodly thought being planted in my mind yesterday.
Don't you just delight when someones comes up to you and gives you a kindly word of advice
or just says something.
Like a young seed in the unbroken earth,
so goes the seed of thought or knowledge into the vast mind.
It plunders and wonders throughout. looking to be planted.
ah, but if thou dost not let it find its place of rest....
it shall rant a rage causing great distress and unrest!
Mine found its place of growth quite quickly I must say.
I have a large collection of ambitions and dreams
and longing for good learning and pleasant but knowledgeable books.
The mind is like a sponge, and by gosh mine sure is a big'un!
With a break from the realm of scholars and professors...I have had much time to dwell on my longings and ambitions. I have so many, so so many!
I want to DO so many things, READ so many books, LEARN all sorts of learning's.
GO to many distant lands. There is so much I dare say, my cup seems to constantly brim up and overflow with it all. Where to start?
This week is going to be a change in the wind, I feel it. I shall no longer think I cannot learn as much as I would like, or fulfill any of the dreams I have.
I shall not be afraid of my most serious and deepest thoughts.
( I used to be deathly scared of serious thoughts, thinking I should only explore the shallow
childlike ones)
I shall allow my mind to stretch out as far as it can.
and I shall carrying with me a sack of happy and a rod of guidance
My seed. yes the seed that amazingly found its' into my
highly unorganized and somewhat childlike mind started this whole chain of events.
or rather, unburied them. for I must admit they have been there all along, constantly trying to pop out.
Perhaps down the lane....
which could come up rather fast, or slow.
Whatever the Lord's will is
I shall be in my home.
with my husband.
and we too shall begin to plant goodly seeds in our own children's minds.

The Happiness Freedom Brings...

I was totally going to blog yesterday...
Totally.
But I ended up taking advantage of my free day
by attempting to do a little shopping at the mall.
I didn't buy much, actually just 2 items(gifts)
because my price range was not very broad this time....
they should take pity on me and put everything on sale whenever I come out.
haaaaaaa. dream on rachel.
But it was a splendid time! I went with a dear friend of mine,
and I found so many cute things.
I wanted to buy them all but made sure I paced myself.
I ate at this amazing yogurt shoppe, You Say When.
it's my ultimate favorite!
I also spent a majority of the time people-watching.
It's great fun, I could literally just go to mall, sit outside a coffee shop,
and watch people. for hours.
What are their lives like? what are they shopping for? what are their dreams and goals?
why do they dress the way they do...

I'm getting sidetracked...but I am just oh so pleased it is break!
Sometimes I will make a list of things that make me incandescently happy.
I think it's good for the mind, to just really focus on the things that truly make us happy.
it can be little itty bitty things, or great big bundles!

*photo from the web, but this is the shoppe I went to, I don't own a working camera at the moment =[*

Here is my list of things that make me incandescently happy!

  • Running through the grass barefoot
  • A barn full of well fed happy horses
  • Vintage. Anything Vintage
  • Sprinkles
  • Twirling in a floaty skirt
  • Hugs that last a while
  • Hats of any size or shape
  • Rosey red cheeks and noses during chilly weather
  • When the sun shines through my window and wakes me up warmly
  • inky ink pens
  • yogurt shoppes

So Long, Farewell!

I am finished.
I AM DONE!
oh. my. gravy.
The semester has ended. Goodbye college! I just finished taking my algebra exam.
I am for real done. through!
So long endless lectures, late nights of studying and cramming,
waking up at 6am,
driving the same route. every- single- week.
Goodbye teachers.
I know you thought you were really great,
and I did learn things. really, I did.
but I'm sorry to report that some of you did not quite make it up to par.
( and one of you did not make this semester an easy one, lol)
Goodbye students.
some of you were interesting, some of you were great,
some of you were just odd, and some of you reminded me of zombies.
Farewell classroom door that I ran right smack into several times.
*whispers* I blame you for the low grades-
This semester was a challenge.
it was fun,....it was horrible,
it was hilarious,.....it was monotonous.
I have an ENTIRE month off until the spring semester starts.
what ever shall I do with myself?
WHO KNOWS?
but it's gonna be great! Christmas, New Years, and my birthday
all happen during my month off.
January 11th? pleeeaaasssee just take your time. no rush spring semester. no rush.

Terrific Tuesday! Hooray!

goodness gracious. Once again the frighteningly good 3rd day of the week has arrived!
It is fun. oh what fun it is.
*grins* Since it is that time of the year
( PRESENT TIME!)
I thought a terrific gift idea would be quite suitable
don't ya think?
I always think that if you could throw in a good helpful cause,
plus a good gift, mix it all together, and be completely pleased.
Vola'!
the perfect present.

TOMS Shoes.
yes, I personally own a pair, and LOVE them.

I, however, cannot take full credit for discovering these shoes.
my dear friend Whitney did. I saw her wearing a pair and just couldn't get over how cute, and comfy they looked! plus you can practically wear them with anything.really.I saw her shoes, she told me the story behind them, and I was hooked. This is usually how people find out about them, the shoes are eye catching =]
"TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about."

You get a totally cool and groovy pair of shoes.
A kid who really needs them gets a pair too!All for the price of just one pair =]oh I love being inspired. Now, they aren't super cheap. But I really truly believe it is worth it.You could buy a pair as a gift to someone, and at the same time be giving a pair to someone who desperately needs shoes. No extra money, no scams, just honest giving =]

check them out!>>>TOMS SHOES<<<<<<

P.S. I don't know about you, but I would love to have those wrap boots. they come in multiple colors, too cute! =]

also, a new reader of mine, Federica, is having a sweet giveaway at her place. go check it out!

Have a great day!!

Ribble Rubble Ramble

Hello
* whispers* that up there is not me.... sadly. It's just a rad 40's glam shot. =]
I have much on my mind as of late. In fact, I believe I have done far more deep thinking this past weekend then I have in a while. Some of you may know I already do far more in-depth thinking then I believe is humanly normal....
so I'm not sure if this all should frighten me or excite me.
I seem to always do it when I am in a crowd of people....
daydreaming or whatever you want to call it.
I will go through entire scenarios and multiple thoughts right in the midst of friends.
They will be jibbering and jabbering about something quite funny or pleasant
and there I am in a daze
Usually followed by me blinking and then fervently asking
"whaaa? what did you say? what were you guys talking about?
I'm so confused!"
.......I wonder why?

This happens a lot.
Sometimes I will just space out.
thinking of, um. er.
nothing.
Or I'm distracted by shiny objects, or someones pretty smile, or groovy shoes.
it just happens.
and everything around me sounds extremely mumbled and unimportant.
Until I come out of it and realize it probably was of some importance.
oops.

Anywho...
(goodness look at me chasing after all these rabbits!)
This is the FINAL week of the fall semester.
I only have to endure 4 more days of studying and exams
I am incredibly giddy about this.
and then I will have an ENTIRE month to enjoy many pleasant happenings
I can't wait.
GAHHH!!!

"All the world is birthday cake, so take a piece, but not too much."

Of all the whimsical things that make me incredibly happy all the way down to my toes (and tummy)...

Cupcakes and Muffins are most definitely at the top of my list.

Don't these just look so scrumptious?

Have a fantastic Saturday!

I have something to tell you.
and for those of you who know me well, you may be surprised?
and for those who know me really really well ...
may not be surprised at all.
or perhaps I could be completely wrong!
The truth of the matter is
I am a hopeless romantic
yes 'tis true.
In my mind I expect all gentlemen to have that Mr. Darcy persona
They will open doors, speak in a gentlemanly way, bring flowers, write love letters
dote on the one they are smitten with and know how to dance well.
see? hopeless romantic you may say.
I used to gag at the thought of romance novels,
or a movie that involved any sort of romantic vibe.
I was an avid and devout tomboy as a kid you see....
still am in many, many ways.
But I seem to be merging towards the middle in some areas now.
Romance is one of them.
I relish a good novel, or movie that demonstrates the way a real gentleman treats a lady.
sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.
What is all this leading to you say? I found a beautiful. simply lovely. song.
and I was afraid if I didn't explain myself before posting it I would send out the wrong message.
ha ha.... such a worry wart I am.
( or perhaps I just wanted another excuse to talk about Mr. Darcy)
And noo, I do not have a "special someone" right now that this song is personally directed to.
believe me. you would know!
I just thought it was beautiful.
It is simple, and doesn't just talk about the "fireworks" side of love. =]
Here is the song.

and here are the lyrics. Enjoy!
I've been waiting all my life for this morning
Just to wake up next to you holding me
And your head is resting gently on my shoulder
Like you're whispering to me
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
So glad I found you
I'm in love with you
When we're leaving dreams and rolling back the covers
All at once we're getting ready for the day
It's when you look at me in the mirror while you're shaving
Before I go on my way, you say
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
You're the one I choose ‘Cause I'm in love
Love is joy and love is pain
It's kissing in the rain
It's doing dishes when it's late Isn't it, baby
It's the art of compromise
It's hellos and long goodbyes
It's the picture of our lives
Isn't it crazy
So I'll call you when I get to where I'm going
And I'll tell everyone we know you said hello
And without fail they'll ask me if I miss you
Of course I do, you know I do
‘Cause I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
You're the one I choose
I'm in love I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
I love you just the same as I did the day I fell in love with you

Sometimes.....

.....I have more then one spoonful of peanut butter a day
......I secretly wish I could wear fancy dresses all the time
.......I have an entire day scheduled and I toss it all away just so I can stay curled up in my bed
............I procrastinate on my math homework
.....I could eat cupcakes and muffins 3 times a day
.................I dance around in the kitchen before anyone else is up
........I listen to oldies and try to sing like this particular fellow (lead singer)
...I think taking a shower seems like a lot of work and don't want to ( dont freak.. I give in to it)
........I just want to run away and live like one of Robin Hood's men in Sherwood.
....I forget to pray and Praise Him
.........I get a little obsessed with blogging =]

Sweet Nibblets! Terrific Tuesday?!

Goodness. A Frighteningly good day has paid this blog yet another visit.
I am Glad.
It is actually quite a fun task thinking of something Terrific to post every week.
Sometimes though, I wonder if perhaps it seems quite grand to me...
and only me.... and not to you.
I apologize.
Just don't go raining on my 3rd day of the week parade just yet...
let this easily amused brain prattle on in it's delight.
he ha ho hum.
Soooo... I know it's only the very first and freshest day of the month.
but it IS December!!! CHRISTMAS TIME!!
This entire month is dedicated to it.
I mean.. seriously!
So I couldn't help thinking
about all the Terrific movies I always end up watching this time of year
Some I don't watch until Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Others are just Spontaneous. =]
Okayyy, so maybe it's not something new to you. But I just can't help sharing.

What about you?

As I Sip On Apple Sider..

......I say farewell to November.
Goodbye beautiful month. You will be greatly missed.
November was a GOOD month, 30 days filled to the brim with gratitude, smiles, tears, changes, and enjoyments.

Some of the Highlights...

~* Did swing dancing for the first time
~* Discovered some really rad online vintage shops
~* Tried out several new recipes... Huzzah!

~* Completed the daunting, seemingly impossible, headache inducing, 2500 word research paper Touche'!

~* Celebrated the Thanksgiving Holiday with my totally cool family. Each girl contributed to the feast by preparing her very own dish, and the boys offered clean-up duty!

~* Went to Disney World. to EPCOT. amazing. with church friends. amazing.

oh I could continue on to list every little delightful happening, but I'm not going to bore you readers with that. I must admit this month was amazing. My Fall Break was MUCH needed, since Finals are coming up my mind has the tendency to go into hyperventilating-stressingout-my brain is going to explode-mode.
Break came and I spent several days relaxing, reflecting, and being laZy.
Didn't think of school once.
YaY
Thank you November, You were even so kind as to throw in some perfectly brisk and somewhat chilly fall-ish weather right during Thanksgiving.
down here in Florida.
My longing for a chance to wear sweaters and hats salutes you.
God is good. SO good.
I am blessed. SO blessed.
I hope each of you had a splendid month as well!
Cheers to the upcoming month. A time of MERRY happenings!

  • I went to 10 different countries
  • I saw the happy lit-up faces of children everywhere
  • I went on a mission to mars and succeeded
  • I was a Pilot, an Engineer, and a Navigator and it was a breeze
  • I felt the cool blast of wind in my face as our test car went up to 70 mph
  • I ate Italian chocolate and Japanese candy
  • I laughed and laughed and laughed
  • I cried
  • I danced and skipped, I twirled and bounced
  • I found Dori.
  • I soared over the Golden Gate Bridge
  • I saw grandma's and grandpa's having more fun than the little ones
  • I felt so happy inside that I was going to burst

.Grateful Thankfulness.

I am thankful for oh so many things.
Things......such a shallow word for something that represents A LOT!
Since listing what I am thankful for would take up this entire blog
and maybe even the world wide web....
((ok maybe that was exagerating.. a little..))
I will just list some of my most important.

  • My Family
  • My Beautiful Friends
  • My Job
  • My God, my Faith, my Church
  • My Life
  • That Tomorrow is Always Fresh with No Mistakes in it

You will have an entire day reminding you to be thankful.

Just don't forget to be grateful the other days as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Terrific Tuesday

ah yes! YES! It IS that day of the week again. So soon? That is why it is terrific.
So, It is only 2 days until Thanksgiving.
A Holiday purely focused on thanking God.
In my opinion this is the best holiday of the year.
So along with thanking God for not only the obvious blessings,
but also thanking Him for the everyday things we all take for granted,
we get to eat food.
Amazing, scrumptious, tasty, delightful. warm-and-happy-in-my-tummy FOOD!
So I knew that this week's Terrific Tuesday item would be a TERRIFIC recipe.
Not just any recipe I must admit....
A recipe I do every year, and it is always a huge hit!
You should most certainly try this recipe of cooking that will please thy guest and sastify thy tastebuds.
Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake

Ingredients
For the cake:
1 18.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
For the filling:
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 15 ounce can pumpkin pie filling
3 eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 16-ounce box confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
Yields: 20-24 small squares
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine cake mix, egg and butter, and mix well. Pour into the bottom of prepared pan and set aside.
In the mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth; add pumpkin pie filling, eggs and vanilla. Dump in confectioner’s sugar and beat well. Reduce speed of mixer and slowly pour in butter. Mix well. Pour filling on top of cake mixture and spread evenly. Bake 40-50 minutes (You want the center to be a little gooey; so don’t bake past that point!). Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into squares

*recipe secret...... the second time I made this I was going to take it to a gathering the next day so I just placed it in the fridge that night and planned to warm it up a little the next day. Well... I forgot to warm it up and it was served cold. It was AMAZING cold. I rather liked it, so I highly reccomend serving it chilled.

Euphoria's First Bloggy Award

Thank you EVER so much Katherine Sophia for your super sweet comments and most of all for awarding my fairly new-ish blog with an award! Goodness, I never even knew people gave awards to blogs and it is a rather exciting thing! It makes me giddy with delight.

What you Do:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award.
2. Copy the Award.
3. Post it in your blog.
4. Tell us 7 things that your readers don't know.
5. Link 7 new blogger as recipients.
6. Notify winners of award with comment on their blog.
7. Keep being Awesome. :)

7 things my readers don't know...this is tricky because quite a few of you know me inside and out.....

1.) I ride/train and show horses in Hunter/ Jumper and Equitation and the highest I have jumped is 4'3'' ( four feet and 3 inches)

2.) I randomly speak with a British accent ( among others), I have even taken orders at restaurants that way and sometimes I dont even realise it.

3.) My absolute very favorite body lotion/spray that I use all the time is Love Spell by Victoria's Secret. It's heavenly!!

4.) I have this thing for overalls. I love them. and I desperately want a pair.

5.) I cannot stand anything to do with knives or other sharp/pointy objects. I cover my face with a pillow whenever someone is about to be stabbed in a crime show or movie. It gives me the willeys!

6.) I will make cookies just so I can indulge in the cookie dough... only about half end up being baked.

7.) When I have my own place I shall have a garden of sunflowers =]

I am going to pass this award to 3 beautiful, talented, and goldy young women whom I know personally and have greatly enjoyed visiting their blogs. Each of them are so comfortable with who they are and really let their true personality shine through!

To Whitney ...she has the most happy and pleasant blog that I LOVE visiting!

And also to Max-Frederick. Just go visit her blog, it is creative, unique, and delightful!

And my last act of awarding shall proceed to Elliebird, her blog is quite the read , she has such wonderful taste and style in things that is all her own. =]

On a side note..... for those of you who do not know.. my computer crashed with a virus, so I only get on when this laptop is available and working. So being able to blog frequently may not happen for some time.. we shall see.

I hope each of you have had a wonderful Friday! Don't forget to smile!

Terrific Tuesday

Terrific- Frighteningly good; Astounding or awesome
Tuesday- the third day of the week; the second working day

from now on my friendly readers, every Tuesday here at Euhoria will be Terrific.

Yes, a Frighteningly good third day of the week.

I will simply post something that I think is terrific. or awesome. or frighteningly good! It may be a photo, song, story, poem, website, recipe..... who knows?

Today I want to share with you a TERRIFIC quartet. I love the sound of violins and cellos playing together in harmony, and this group takes it to the next level by playing all the popular modern day songs! Including COLDPLAY. delicious.
Let your ears taste a sample by playing the little music box I have in that corner up there.

One, Two. One, Two. One, Two.

Last night I went to a party.
A real. legit. party.
you know... the ones where they have dancing and music?

Now, do not be shocked.. or gasp in surprise once you hear of this..
But I have never been dancing. like real dancing. in my life.
Sure, I've danced at home, or been silly, dancing around with friends. I love to dance.
But with another person? or in a line with lots of people?
nope. never.

I was super excited about the party, but very anxious as well.
Some of you may know that I am not too light on my feet at times.. and extremely accident prone.

In fact, while getting ready for the party.. I raaan into the bathroom and the floor was wet.
I practically fall flat on me head, thank goodness my reflexes were working for once and I caught myself. I did end up with a very sore wrist.
Oh dear, not even at the party and I'm already tripping.

So first we all did line dancing. Oh my! You should have seen me! I was going the wrong way, misstepping, and stepping on many peoples toes. I crashed into a few as well.
It was extremely delightful tho.... we did so many different line dances that I was constantly mixing them up.. but it was FUN! I laughed so much. =]

And then, I had the chance to dance with a very kind, considerate, and brave young man.
He showed me how to do some sort of dance.. I cannot remember it right now.. swing dancing? I think. I have never danced with someone else, and I thankfully did not step on his feet.. but I am afraid I was so focused on just that one thing that I was quite a site!! It was pleasantly and surprisingly fun though! even though I did keep turning the wrong way.

I believe I am going to try more of this dancing thing... it was more fun than I had imagined... and so far everyone I danced with or beside to is stil my friend! thank goodness.

perhaps I will post pictures if I find any.
