Finals

I've entered the final two weeks of the semester.
( YEEE HAAAAWWW!!!!)
quite a few of you know what this means..... oooh it's swell.
for the next 12 days I shall be consumed by
and immersed in studying and cramming and so forth.
So blogging, sadly, will have to be set on the shelf for the time being.
You all now I am a confessed & hopeless procrastinator of many things
( schoolwork being the numerous uno)
and blogging, since a love it oh so much, will be quite a distraction for me.
It needs to take a siesta.

I am so blessed to have such lovely & dedicated followers! I enjoy each of your blogs and reading your comments to my posts make me smile inside and out.
May 10th is my last day.....
and hopefully after that blogging will be in sync with my schedule again.
So if I do post between now and then it will be very little.
GAH! how will I survive?!
*bawls*
Be Back Soon.... summer is oh so close!!

A little Confessional

I regularly visit Bing, even if I don't need to search something, because of the groovy photo.

I am pretty much in a big way a huge fan of Coldplay and One Republic.

It's not bad to be passionate about little things, like grinning.

Slay me modcloth.

little phone calls and little letters.
they make me incredibly happy.

This summer I'm running away to Neverland.

Embrace what makes you, you.
( my little crazy kid side, definitely a part of me worth embracing)

Cheers of Yesterday

Oh mee oh my
*grins*
I so totally meant to post this yesterday, but I crashed.
I've been extremely tired in the evenings lately,
and my stomach has been doing a lot of flip flops the past few days.
{nothin' serious, it just doesn't feel very happy. psh I hate ranting about myself, cause it doesn't seem fair to you all... so there, my little rant is over. =]
but one of the perks of attending community college is the fact that I never ever Have classes on Fridays. ( which means catching up on sleep)
SUH-WEEEET!
So yesterday was one hug big ol'e blur in my face. You know, the kinda day where you are going non-stop and you can't even remember if you ate any food that day, or if you brushed your teeth, and your brain is about explode from all the studying.
And driving home from my intern at 7:30pm, I was in a complete daze. ha ha.
I was covered in sweat and dirt and horse hair
( ooh the Florida Humidity is creeping in already, but that means SUMMER!!!)
And my riding boots were caked up to my ankles in mud, and I just sat there, driving like an old lady who had just finished a water aerobics class.
My eyes glazed over and my brain was probably making sloshing noises.
I was pooped.
which means I was in DESPERATE need of a pick-me-up.
I was starving, and thirsty at the same time. but I was far too warm for heated up food.
oooh boy, I seriously needed something fast before I just drove straight off the road and into a house.
And what did I pass while creeping along the highway towards home?
Steak & Shake
Its' red, white, and black little building lighting up like a beacon.
The big milkshake billboard calling my name.
EUREKA!!!!!

A Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Milkshake? YES PLEASE!

*sigh* yesterday turned out to be a very good day.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

~tErRiFiC TuEsSdAy~

you know it.
you sense it
you feel it.
Tuesday=Terrific
so don't be hate'n and don't be ignorin'
Frighteningly good third day day of the week is here.
Go chew some terrific gum and then twirl in the warm sun
while attempting to blow terrific bubbles.
{ anything can be terrific today, even hiding in a corner, I'm just sayin'}
HIPPIDYHUZZOORAH!
So I don't know about you all , but when I have an awfully hard time falling asleep....
{ where your mind keeps racing with all the things you forgot to do and need to do, and no matter how many times you roll over it feels the same, and there is some ultra annoying sound or light blaring}
.....my ipod comes to the rescue. I have this one song that no matter what, the minute I play it , I can breathe, relax, and it puts me in the perfect mood for sleeping.
I call it my sleeper sound.
and that's today's Terrific Item.
My sleep sound/ artist is
Greg Laswell
his music in general is pure genius.
It gives me that "i'm so happy my heart could burst" vibe every time I listen to it.
His voice is incredible, and soothing.
{ ooh dear, am I facing a crush epidemic here? *sheepish grin* ooooh yes}
The one song of his I always go to play when I can't fall asleep is
And Then You
it puts me into a perfectly relaxed state right away, I'm not sure how or why it ended up being him and this particular song( the lyrics are so sweet!)
but it works. and I heart him ha ha.
So I just had to share this with you, because music,
especially music that helps me chill, is totally terrific.
Here's to a good night's sleep!
& the Terrific Question of the Day is....
What is your sleep sound?

Spring Break 2010

Pics from my lovely Spring Break are much overdue, [they seriously need to come up with a faster way to upload pictures..... or maybe it's just my little old computer is getting quite tired with the constant bombardment of photos.]
I cannot believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I was celebrating, embracing, and relishing in the happiness of freedom from bookwork.
It was simply delightful. simply. D-E-L-I-G-H-T-F-U-L.
I spent oodles and oodles of quality time with my 4 gorgeous sisters and handsome little brother.
Not to mention my 2 amazing parents. { never realized how the amount of time I spend with them has shrunken until break came along. this must change!}
Besides sleeping in my pool of pillows past 7am ever single morning, and eating 3 meals a day at home, and baking crazy amounts of sweetsum goodies, spontaneously making trips with friends, having time for hobbies that seemed to be pushed to the side when the semester started, and just chilling and reading books(for fun!) My entire family also made a big 'ole trip to Fort Desoto Beach. It was great and had me reliving memories of beach trips when I was a kid. I was incredibly giddy and hyper the entire day, my inner kid easily came out while riding in the car with my siblings.

ah ha ha ha. I laughed so much that day. It was a fantastic way to start off my break.
The funny thing is, the day we all decide to traipse out to the beach is the one day it was rather chilly-ish, and the wind was crazy strong and boisterous. ( seriously, I was almost blown over a few times) and the water was cold cold cold! as most of you may now I'm a weeee bit of a daredevil/thrill seeker. to me, the water was perfect for swimming. or at least presented a challenge ( what is wrong with me?) So yeah, I swam in freezing water with hurricane winds and had a blast. ( the waves were great) and honestly, it was rather refreshing and fun!
and once you get out of the water and wind starts to blow right through you, I discovered that standing as rigid as possible with your back to wind while wrapping yourself in a towel can greatly reduce going into hypothermia.
I'm insane. yeah, I'm pretty sure I am.
After our short beach expedition we drove just a short ways to the actual Fort, and it was very kool.

{you probably can't really tell, but that's my sister chasing her float that's being blown away}

I heart my carefree, laid back, slightly dysfunctional, amazing family.

God has blessed me with more than I truly deserve.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

For the Record

{egg toss game at singing school}

hmm, it appears that in this recent post
some folks questioned the fact that I didn't mention one of the biggest highlights of every summer!
Harmony Highlands Singing School
*ahem*
I did too mention it!!
for real. I sure did. it's right smack dab in the middle.,... been there the whole time dears.
*gasp*
does this mean you simply skimmed over that post?!
ha ha, no biggie.
I'm just thinking you all want an entire post dedicated about the most delightful week of the year in the Alabama highlands.
sooo, I suppose I will be reminiscing with those who know about it, and filling in for those who don't....very soon. I promise. It truly is a special time I am always looking forward to, I'm desperately crossing my fingers I can attend again this summer.
and for the the record, too....
Your comments mean so much to me!
They make me smile
(and laugh at times)
Thank you! Have a lovely evening!

TERRIFIC TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

IS BACK!!!!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!
oh, frighteningly good third day of the week, how I've missed drowning in your terrific-ness.
Busy ickyness was out to get me I tell ya, and especially on Tuesdays. As Stephanie would say from the show Full House. " How RUDE!"
Why?! Well, perhaps it's because I only have 2 weeks of the semester left
* squeals, faints, cries,* and as Usher would say in his latest song..... ( ok, dont judge me, I'm not a gaga Usher fan, ok?) "It feels so good to be back!"
ahhhhhhh. I have missed soaking up this wonderful made-up excuse to blab about Terrific things. Now don't forget, it is after all Tuesday, which means you HAVE to take the time to be Terrific, think of Terrific, anything Terrific people!!! even if it involves brushing your teeth in a Terrific way, DO IT! Take time to think to yourself what makes this day so Terrific for you, even if it's the fact that you punched you snooze button more then once and still made it to class on time. Ok, so today's TERRIFIC item is food .again.
ha ha ha ha. I can't help it. I love my food, and when I'm hungry that's all I have on the brain.
So therefore, I blog about it. *grins* You all know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE to bake. Cookies being one of my top favs ( tying in with cupcakes, muffins, and pie)
I mean, seriously. It's therapeutic, tasty, fun, a good way to procrastinate, filling, sweet, delightful. It is extremely and incredibly Euphoric.
Happy happy happy. I feel sad for those who say they can't bake, because it really is super easy and boy oh boy are they missing out on benefits!! I mean, HELLO! if you are the baker, you get the dough, literally. homemade batter/dough is oooh so Yumm-O.
So today I came home after class( finally!! I was house sitting for a week and missed my bed) and had. to. bake. and we didn't have all the ingredients for a certain cookie recipe. so I made one up ( I tweaked up a chocolate chip bag recipe) and honestly, I don't mean to brag.
but oooh my goodness they turned out to be so moist, chewy and good!!! I don't have a name yet...( any suggestions?) So right now I call this recipe...
Melt-In-Your-Mouth-Delight
2 and 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup Canola oil ( I used Smart Balance Omega)
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar ( I used organic sugar)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
about 1/4 bag-1/2 (12 ounce bag) of Jumbo semi-sweet chocolate chips
a sprinkle of milk chocolate chips.
1/2 cup? ( however much you prefer) of chopped/shaved vanilla flavored Almond Bark.
Preheat oven to 375, then combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
mix butter, oil, and sugars in large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, peanut butter, and vanilla mixing well. Gradually add flour mixture , mixing well. Stir in chocolate and almond bark.
roll dough into any size balls you prefer and place on ungreased baking sheet ( not too close!)
Bake for 10 minute and enjoy!!!

It's coming

{ this picture summed up my thoughts of summer perfectly}

Walking around campus this morning, with the clear skies and 85 degree Florida sunshine raining down and touching everything, I, for the life of me , could not get summer off my brain!!! It's incredibly close. I feel like I could reach out and dangle my fingers in it.
Summer has that vibe. that feeling. When I think of the word summer, a million senses and thoughts and excitements and memories fill my mind. the smell of sunscreen. ipods. nail polish. sundresses and ponytails. farmer's tan. sun burnt noses. warmth& blistering heat. The amazing feeling of air conditioning and the coolness of icy water in my parched mouth. tank tops. lazy mornings. singing school. burying my feet in cool sand. the slap of flip-flops. spontaneous outings. the closeness of friends and carefree feelings. laughter. Happiness....... bliss.
It could fill this blog to the brim and then some.
These 2 last months are filled with yearning and the brimming of excitement... it's coming.

I would love to know...... when you think summer, what thoughts come to mind? Any big plans for this one coming up?? do share =]

I am house sitting for my boss this week... until Monday.... so computer time has been reduced to the campus success center computer lab in between classes. Once I get back home I cannot wait to post the many many photos I have piling up... and to blog more!

Have a Happy Weekend!!!!!

Returning

I haven't deserted you dear blog, or lovely followers.
I miss sitting here and rambling daily.
It's been overwhelmingly busy these past few days.
My Allergies this season ( oh the joys of living in Florida, pollen galore!) have been the worst they have ever been. I've felt pretty crummy and tired.
Then there was Easter weekend, helping out with an event at work, and scrambling to gather up homework assignments and study for an exam
( college classes have started up once more...farewell break)
I'm feeling much better today, and I have been studying tons for an upcoming exam tomorrow.
once that's all over and done with... I shall return. =]
I cannot wait to sit down and catch up on all of ya'lls blogs!!
I hope your Easter weekend was fabulous!

I say Hello

............Goodbye March............
Oh March. You were a slightly tricky month to put into words at first.
You wooshed through oh. so. incredibly fast.
yet, you seemed to be as slow as molasses and I
swear I could hear you dragging your feet at times.
March you were like a roller coaster ride.
You had incredible highs! like SPRING & sunshine & a delightful break from school
big happenings ( concerts and lovely times with friends, Horse shows and happy scores on exams)So happy, so carefree, so cheery!!! Spring, what bliss!!! ah March, you seemed to hold on tight for a while.... you were such an earnest and persistent month.
You had incredibly lows.
Times where I was afraid I would never accomplish everything that needed to be done, I wanted to stomp and scream and just run away to Black Pearl and fight like a pirate.
There were times I was in the depths of despair when I would suddenly realize how fast time was going by, that it was already March, 3 months into 2010. yikes. There was so much going on, so much to come, so much that had passed.
March, you woke me up and in a kind way slapped my in face, I needed that. February had made extremely comfortable and lazy and like I had all the time in the world.....
Thank you God for another month of safety, blessings, and good health.
Hello April.
For some reason the very first thing that came to mind was this song
(one of my favorites, oooh Beatles I do like you quite a lot)
You seem so promising!!! and seriously a month that begins with hilarious surprising tricks and fooling has got to be some sort of happy sign.
I feel like this month motto is Git-er-done, there are lists waiting to be checked off! Productiveness. May seem daunting but the feeling afterwards is incredibly euphoric.
BUT at the same time this month we should all take special care to notice the little things, make promising memories, be thankful, make it count. We all know May is a tad crazy especially if any of your friends or relatives are graduating. So really, and seriously, make sure you include some YOU time, and time with friends. notice the sunshine peeking through the window, or the kind person who stopped to let you pull out into the busy street, or how delightful your coffee smells, or how beautiful and sweet your best friend Truly is ( and let them know it!)

and I have to admit this April fools I was fooled oh so many times. and epically failed at fooling others. for now... there is still time.
