When One Door Closes...

The month of May was a whirlwind! A time for mile markers- life changing moments. May, you were certainly a season of change for me.

After what seemed like an eternity of studying, cramming, memorizing, learning, and stressing, I graduated from college. I was pinned as a Veterinary Technician and graduated from my local college with an Associates Degree in Science. I still don't quite believe it, even after all the ceremonies and even reading the sentences I just typed. I think it's because I  honestly could not have made it to where I am today if was not for God, and the encouragement of my family and friends. All the glory goes to God for blessing me with the mental strength to push through the intense program...and all the thanks goes to my family and dear friends who were there to push me when I felt like giving up. I am an incredibly blessed young woman, and wow, what a month this was! I am ending a chapter in my life that I thought may never end, ha ha... school will do that to your brain!

Now I stand on the brink of a summer like no other summer before: I will Lord willing take the State Certification Exam on June 15th, and then exactly one month later I will sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam. I am scared to death of the national exam, asking my brain to remember everything I've learned over the span of a few years seems like a huge favor to ask! But I am also incredibly excited- this is what I went to school for!

Afterwards, I will continue working at my newly acquired technician job.... no more fall classes, so weird!

I almost feel like my life is now a bit of a blank slate. Sure, I will hopefully pass my exams this summer and work as a technician in-clinic... but now I am out on my own. It is a thrilling thought to me! There is so much in life, and I am now free to embrace it! I am on the edge of my seat praying that God will guide me and that I will  have the opportunity to do grand and wonderful things to glorify Him everyday of my life.

I am incredibly thankful that I have a degree and had the opportunity to go to school, but that is a small little glimmer in my life. It falls short in comparison to the fact that I have a full and rich life! I am a beloved child of the one and only God, I am alive because of Him, I am in good health, I work in a field that I love, I have the most supporting family, and the best friends.

Family

There is no other place that makes me as happy and carefree as being with my family. I am completely free when I am around my siblings and parents... free to be an emotional wreck or a silly kid. They support me, laugh with me, cry with me, tease me, encourage me and help keep me in line. They remind me that while a multitude of people and friends will come and go in my life, my family will never leave my side... as long as God has us here on earth, we will be there for each other. We have been through a lot this past year, and a lot is really an understatement.... we've been through SO much, more than I can say.....and yet looking back on this past year I've come to realize how the trials we've been through have only brought us closer together. At times it seemed like each other was all we had. I thank God that He blessed me with them  We are a super tight knit bunch , and share everything with each other. I can talk to my parents like they are old friends, and sometimes my younger siblings are the ones giving me advice. We don't know where God is taking us next, or what His will is for us at this time... yet with each other and a lot of prayer I know we will be ready for whatever He has in store for us :)

I'm on spring break right now and was able to spend a  day at the beach with most of my family ( my older sister and Dad both had to work .we missed you two!) and I FINALLY got my braces off!!!! woot woot!

Update

( ^ what my bedroom floor looks like)

I am now in the final 8 weeks of school before graduation and it's incredibly overwhelming and stressful! (stress town central right now!) I have a mile long list of things that need to be done before the end of April; projects to complete, papers to write, presentations to give, intern hours to log, and midterms/finals/quizes to take ( and Lord willing pass!)

With all that being said I will have to become a hermit for a little while and really focus my attention on school, I'll post a few updates and pictures here and there though! :) I just wanted to keep ya'll in the loop!

I would greatly appreciate any prayers you can send my way though! Without God, and the prayers/encouragement from my friends/family I would not be where I am today- A senior in college graduating in 8 WEEKS!

good gravy.

GOOD GRAVY!

( let's hope I emerge with an intact brain!)
